In need of a little help...
Ok GTC friends, I need a few volunteers! I need to put a small album together of some wedding portraits, and Amanda had the brilliant idea to stage a wedding shoot! I have the dress, we can clip it in the back so it will fit every size, (or if someone has their own and would like to use it that would be awesome!) I need a Gal and a Lad! Anyone who helps me out I will bake for them a delicious cookie! Let me know guys it'll be OH SO fun!
Holiday Fun
Today in class we worked on out set for Holiday Portraits that are coming up in about 2 weeks! We still have so much to do, but we got a good start! Here are some images i took today during all the fun! :)

The Twelve Elements of a Merit Image:
#1 Impact, Seeing an image for the first time and evoking some sort of emotion
#2 Creativity, speaks for itself
#3 Technical Excellence, print quality, presentation, sharpness color correctness
#4 Composition, the design of the image itself
#5 Lighting, use and control
#6 Style, a definite characteristic
#7 Print Presentation, should enhance and support the image, NOT distract
#8 Center of Interest, what the maker wants the viewer to focus on as their subject
#9 Subject Matter, should always be appropriate to the story being told in the image
#10Color Balance, supplies harmony to an image
#11 Technique, the approach used to create the image,
#12 Story Telling, is the image's ability to evoke imagination
I think I should read and re-read this every time I even think about picking up my camera. I can NOT WAIT until January for the Imaging USA conference!! So many brilliant photographers under one roof, it's going to be A-mazing!

Photographers on Facebook...
Facebook got in a lot of trouble recently for allowing images to be used and basically stolen. This could be a serious issue for photographers... check out this article on PPA!

I have some really awesome people at my school! They make me laugh till I cry, say really stupid things that make me feel less of an airhead and they stay late to help me work through some HTML junk, that just makes my head spin! Thank you everyone (you know who you are) and Thank YOU Mr. Brett! You my friend are amazing!!! :)

So, sports photography I learned is not really my cup of tea. I could be jumping the gun on this one. Perhaps just because my first experience was not really the greatest! It was at night, so I didn't have the light I needed, I don't have the glass I need to shoot football, and It was a million degrees outside and I was dressed for a hockey game!!! So... maybe it's worth exploring ONE more time, and possibly renting another lens from PPR. This is the best I was able to get, hope my photojournalism teacher doesn't chew my face off.

Pet Photography
I used my Nanni's Amstaf because I knew she could handle being around lots of people and she would be easy to work with (other than her 89lb structure) My husband brought her into the studio for me once the set was put together, and helped get her into the wash tub. She didn't enjoy this part of the shoot much, but she allowed me to get the few cute shots that I needed! She looks like a scary dog, but she is a huge sweet baby who if given the chance would lick you to death! I had a ton of fun doing this project!! :) I could see pet photography in my future!
Days like today...
I am SO glad that I am not made of sugar! We had the children's shoot at school today and my theme was "safari" and I had to carry really awkward fake plants into the studio in a torrential down pour! The hard 'wet' work paid off though because I got some really great shots of Mr. Valin. Jeremy so wonderfully let me barrow his son for this project and we had a lot of fun! this photo shoot gave me lots of ideas for the future!
